|Appearances||The Curse of Cornelius Sigan|
Boars are a wild animal that is hunted by humans.
Arthur Pendragon went with a hunting party looking for a boar. A large boar suddenly charged through the forest to the party, Merlin saved Arthur using his Magic to move a spear with his mind and kill the boar. As Arthur didn't know Merlin had magic, Cedric, who was hiding, took credit for it (The Curse of Cornelius Sigan).
Around a year later, a boar mauled a farmhand, but he was cured by Alice. This was one of many miracle cures that made Uther Pendragon suspicious that Magic was being used in Camelot (Love in the Time of Dragons).
- In the DVD audio commentary for Merlin Series 2, The Curse of Cornelius Sigan, Bradley James and Colin Morgan nickname the boar 'The Garlic Boar'. They call it this as they filmed this sequence in a field full of garlic (look out for the white flowers on the ground in this scene; they are in fact garlic plants). The whole place stank of garlic and they never got used to the smell.
