The duel between Arthur and Morgause took place after Morgause challenged Arthur before the court.
Events
When Morgause challenged Arthur, he accepted before she revealed her identity. Though Arthur was reluctant to fight a woman, nothing in the Knight's Code prohibited her challenge and she refused to withdraw, forcing him to go through with the duel.
Initially, Arthur and Morgause proved evenly matched. Arthur eventually managed to disarm Morgause, wounding her in the arm in the process, but allowed her to retrieve her sword and resume the fight. Morgause soon gained the upper hand and forced Arthur to the corner of the pitch. She kicked him and knocked him to the ground, then held him at swordpoint, winning the duel.
Though the match had been to the death, Morgause chose to spare Arthur after he agreed to come to her in three days and accept whatever challenge she set for him (The Sins of the Father).
