The Ridge of Chemary is a ridge in the kingdom of Camelot. It contains the only deposit of iron ore in the entire kingdom.
History[]
When Morgana hired Alator to kidnap Gaius, he took him to a cave in the Ridge of Chemary. He tortured Gaius for information about the sorcerer Emrys, who Gaius eventually admitted was his apprentice Merlin.
After Merlin found iron ore on Agravaine's boots, he and Gwaine rode to the ridge to search for Gaius. They split up when they reached the caves and Gwaine eventually found Agravaine standing over Gaius with a knife, but Agravaine managed to convince him that he was merely using the knife to test that Gaius was still breathing. He and Gwaine then collected Gaius and returned to Camelot.
Meanwhile, Merlin searched a different section of the caves and ran into Morgana. She tried to kill Merlin with a dagger, but Alator intervened and used his magic to knock Morgana unconscious. He then led Merlin out of the caves and they parted ways as friends (The Secret Sharer).
