The duel between Merlin and Jonas occurred when Merlin attempted to stop the wedding of Uther and Catrina.
Events[]
After Merlin escaped Catrina's trap, he ran to the throne room to stop her from marrying Uther. Along the way, he was confronted by Jonas, who had been tasked with ensuring he did not interrupt the wedding.
Jonas and Merlin attacked each other and Jonas repeatedly shoved Merlin to the floor. Finally, anxious to stop the wedding, Merlin threw Jonas against a wall with a stunning spell, knocking him unconscious. Now that no one was standing in his way, Merlin rushed to the throne room, but was too late to stop the wedding (Beauty and the Beast).
