Jaden Muirden was the wife of Gregor and the mother of Edwin Muirden. She and her husband were sorcerers who followed the ways of the Old Religion and taught their son the use of magic. They were also friends with Gaius. When the Queen died in childbirth, King Uther began to prosecute all forms of magic and executed everyone that he caught practicing it. Jaden and her husband suffered this fate, and they were sentenced to be burned at the stake. While they were being burned, Edwin tried to save his parents, but failed to do so and became permanently scarred in the process. Many years later, Edwin returned to Camelot to avenge his parents’ death by killing Uther, but he did not succeed and was ultimately killed by Merlin. According to Gaius, Jaden and Gregor started to practise dark magic, although it is unknown whether they were evil or not (A Remedy to Cure All Ills).
