Sir John Vincent Hurt CBE is an acclaimed English character actor who provides the voice of Kilgharrah in the BBC series Merlin. He narrates the show as well. Although his character doesn't appear in some episodes he's been credited for voicing the title narration of all episodes.
Hurt's career dates back to the 1960s and has included appearances in many iconic films and TV series, including I, Claudius, the first Alien film, Watership Down, 1984, and V for Vendetta. He also played the War Doctor in the 50th anniversary celebration of Doctor Who. He played Mr. Ollivander in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and reprised the role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and 2 and Professor Oxley in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
