Thanks! My name is inspired by my favourite book series - The Sisters Grimm. Have you heard of it?
I absolutely LOVE Gwen and Arthur together, though I have to admit, there is a lot of chemistry between Merlin and Arthur. Their relationship is so cute!
Who's your favourite character anyhow?
Have you watched the entire 5 serieses - yeah, I knw that's not a word. Whats the plural of Series? Serisii? Seri? (I'd talk about the ending episode, but if you haven't seen it, I don't want to spoil it for you!)
Oh, how did you hear about it? The Sisters Grimm is a book series aimed at young kids (yeah...it's not like I'm a 14 year old, going on to be 15 obsessing over a book series aimed at 12 year olds - oh, no, not at all ;) about the descendants of the Brothers Grimm and how they adapt and cope with the world of fairy-tale that they are thrust into. And yes, that is a really rubbish summary and doesn't do the series justice. (I'm sticking with series as a plural.)
Ummm... my favourite character, er, it's a tie between Merlin (he is soooo cute and funny) and Arthur (I actually love him).
Ahh, the last ever episode. I did not like it AT ALL. Arthur's death has scarred me for life; I cried so much and was depressed for the remainder of my holiday. And he died in Merlin's arms too! In my opinion, it wasn't satisfactory how they ended it - but the acting was brilliant. Gwen never saw her husband again and just readily accepted the fact that Merlin had magic. Arthur died because Merlin didn't think to summon the Dragon earlier. And Gwaine. Poor, poor Gwaine. Why did he go to try and kill Morgana? Oh and wait - the lorry at the end. I have never been more outraged in my life.
Also, just asking, do you like the look of Gwen in the fifth series? She's staring at me now as I type this and I seriously can't decide.
My favourite episode would probably be (I think it's called Queen of Hearts) the one where Morgana and Uther happen across Gwen and Arthur romancing in the woods, and then Uther sentences Gwen to death, so as she is dragged to prison, Arthur runs after her, kisses her, and says "I will always love you!" before being dragged back himself. *sob*.
My least favourite episode would be Lancelot du Lac, because it seriously puts a spanner in the works for the Arthur and Guinevere romance. What's yours? And also, who is your least favourite character?
We were actually looking at Fairy tales in English and my friend told me about it, sounds really interesting, hopefully I can read it some day :)
I agree the last episode was VERY sad, the lorry scene was so random!!!! Every time I watch that episode I am fully crying and suddenly I see old Merlin walking past and I just crack up! I know, if only Gwaine and Percival had not gone hunting Morgana, and then he wouldn't have died and neither would Arthur!!! Another good point, I only reason I can think of as to why Merlin didn't summon the dragon was because in The Kindness of Strangers Kilgharrah said he was dying or something, but the weird thing was he didn't even die!!
I think Gwen had some really nice dresses in Series 5, especially the dusky pink one she wore in a couple of episodes...she's definitely changed drastically since Series 1!!! I like her look most probably in Series 3 or 5. What about you?
My favourite episode is so hard to choose...i have so many!! But if I had to pick one it would probably be A Servant of Two Masters. It had an AMAZING plot and it was just so funny!
My least favourite was probably Love in the Time of Dragons, it's story line was quite weak compared to all those other brilliant episodes! Not that I didn't enjoy it, Merlin stalking Gaius in the middle of the night was definitely hilarious!
My least favourite character would have to be Agravaine, I just don't like how he kept telling Arthur that he would never betray Ygraine but still did exactly that! What about you?
Yeah, I get that. The whole Gauis/Grace love story thing wasn't really cute as such - more nauseating than anything.
Least favourite character wise, yes, probably Agravaine. He is incredibly two faced and I felt really sorry for Arthur as yet another person he trusted betrayed him. But then, I don't particularly like Kilgharrah; I'll never manage to forgive him for not coming in time to save Arthur. And before that, all the 'advice' he gave Merlin was really vague - he either didn't listen to the dragon, or he had to spend ages trying to figure out what the dragon said. What are your views on Morgana? And Mordred? I'm really undecided on those two.
Oooh, studying fairy-tales in English - sounds like my kind of lesson. Your friend is the only person I have EVER heard of who seems to know what The Sisters Grimm is, outside of the virtual world. Kudos to them.
I like the look of Gwen the most in series 4, her dresses are really pretty, as is her hair. But she looks more sweeter in the first series, and as a Queen, she looks spectacularly cold. And her dresses don't really suit her as a Queen. Nor does her hair.
A Servant of Two Masters was really good; the humour in it was exactly what I had come to expect of Merlin. I also quite liked Goblin's Gold, though I felt embarassed for Arthur when all he could do was bray in Gwen's presence - though his acting was really good!
Other news- I watched the episode entitled "Sword of the Stone" - Part 2 today, and I am still crying from that. Arthur and Gwen's faces when Isolde died in Tristan's arms, the only other episode I cried more for was the last one. And the subtext in that episode between Arthur and Merlin - oh, so many things went unsaid! "I came back Merlin, because you are the only friend I have, and I couldn't bear to lose you." Excuse me whilst I go and start crying again.
Incidentally though, Isolde's death is really similar to ...Arthur's (He is not dead, I refuse to believe it, he will rise again.) in the last episode, in that he tells Merlin to hold him, and Isolde tells Tristan to hold her. Episode rant over.
Do you have any other preferences aside from Merlin?
Just saying, this is the most dedicated I have ever been to replying to posts :)
I know right! Kilgharrah seemed really selfish at some points, especially in the first season! It's like he enjoyed confusing Merlin without just giving him a straightforward answer. But I do like Kilgharrah for saving Merlin in so many close situations! When in doubt...call the dragon! I hate Morgana for all the pain she put Merlin and Arthur through but at the same time she was an amazing character so I love her! I also really loved her in Series 1 and 2 which makes it so hard to hate her! She was such a beautiful and selfless person! From the beginning of Series 5 I loved Mordred, he was so cute, innocent and extremely loyal to Arthur. He was even nice to Merlin! Why did Kara have to make him evil!!!! I just couldn't bring myself to forgive him after he changed his allegiance!
Haha I'll tell my friend!
Yeah, I agree, it's strange seeing Gwen in regal clothing like Morgana used to wear!
I usually watch an episode of Merlin every Sunday morning and coincidentally I'm watching Goblin's Gold tomorrow!!! It's such a funny episode..Arthur with donkey ears just kills me! Bradley James played that part superbly!
I watched Sword in the Stone about two weeks ago...Isolde dying was so sad. She was so nice! I didn't like Tristan that much but after he lost his cargo he was really happy that he still had Isolde and then she died too... Oh yeah, they both say 'hold me'...so sad!!! I didn't pick that up, nice one! :)
My other favourite shows are Dance Academy and Once Upon A Time amongst many others, but I'll never love any of them as much I love Merlin! What other shows do you watch?
Also, who is you favourite actor/actress? Merlin or not?
Morgana, I feel for her, I really do. I completely blame Uther for her bitterness, though to be fair, she only made it worse for herself later. Katie McGrath is really pretty though, and I've always been really envious of the dresses and cloaks she wore as Morgana.
Mordred is an interesting one - for some reason, I really hated him as a boy but when Alexander Vlahos started to play the adult Mordred, he grew on me. Until he met Kara. WHO. I. HATE. I've never felt more pity for a character than I have done for Mordred.
And yes, I didn't particularly like Tristan because he seriously dented Arthur's confidence in The Sword in the Stone, and also because he looks old enough to play Isolde's dad. Is it just me, or do you think the actress who plays Isolde looks uncannily like Kate Middleton?
When do you watch Merlin on Sundays - meaning do you watch it on any repeat channels?
Favourite actor/ actress? Uhh...that's tricky!
Merlin wise, probably Bradley James (He.Is.The.Cutest) and Colin Morgan (He's really good at acting - I couldn't believe he actually had to put on an English accent to cover up his Irish one). I like Katie McGrath too, and am glad to see she's gone on to do many things after working on Merlin. Angel Coulby - um, I don't know about her. Her eyebrows intimidate me - every time I watch an episode, I watch her eyebrows do their own thang too. But she's good at acting.
Generally though, I personally love Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter - they are really, really good at acting and I love watching anything with them in.
Who is your favourite actor or actress?
Dance Academy: it rings bells, but I have no idea what it is about. I'm guessing it's to do with dance, and if so, it would be a show that I would steer well clear of. People being all flexible depresses me, because I know I would never be able to do that myself. 'tis sad, yet true.
Once Upon a Time: I SO BADLY WANT TO WATCH THAT! Ever since I got addicted to The Sisters Grimm, I've been interested in anything to do with fairy-tales which led me to want to watch the series. But unfortunately, by the time I resolved to watch it, it was already halfway through the second series. But I've found a website that had the episodes, and I have adopted that as my project for the Summer Holidays. Who is your favourite character in the show?
My favourite shows on TV - hehehe, you're going to regret asking that, I have SO MANY - but I'll only list a few....
Love Glee! But I've completely withdrawn from it after the death of Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson), him and Lea Michele made the series.
I am addicted to Friends (well re-runs), and also love watching other gloriously bad sit-coms (The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother). I don't know why though - it's that thing called #hatewatching.
Used to love Robin Hood too, before it was cancelled. But then Merlin came along, so all was good!
What about films? Do you have any favourite ones or/and ones that you absolutely hate?
Last Question - Is the name Lihini Merlin inspired, because it sounds very vaguely familiar.
Haha! Isolde also looks like this German tennis player, I don't know if you've heard of her but her name is Sabine Lisicki. I have all the box sets so I watch an episode every Sunday morning, they also show repeats every Sunday afternoon so I get to watch two episodes every Sunday! :)
Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are incredible! I love Johnny in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Pirates of the Caribbean! I also love Helena in Harry Potter!
But my favourite actor would have to be Colin Morgan of course!!! Closely followed by Bradley James, Katie McGrath and Alexander Vlahos! I know right, Colin's english accent is uncanny! Hahaha lol Angel's eyebrows! I think Richard Wilson has pretty unique eyebrows...haha this is so random, we're talking about eyebrows :D
Yes, Dance Academy is about teenagers who attend a dancing school. Don't worry I have zero flexibility as well!!!!
Of course Once Upon A Time sounds like a good show for you since you love Sisters Grimm and also Merlin! Fairy tales and Magic! Have you started watching it yet? What episode are you up to???? My favourite character is Henry, followed by Emma, August and Neal! What about you?
Wow you watch a lot of interesting shows! Haha hatewatching!
Films are so hard to choose but I my favourites would be all the Harry Potter Films, Nancy Drew, Coraline, Despicable Me and The Confessions of a Shopaholic. There are a couple of others I think.. What about you?
My ABSOLUTE least favourite movie of ALL TIME would be Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World....it was so bad!!!!!!
Also, what are you favourite genres? Mine would be fantasy, comedy and drama!
Haha Lihini is not Merlin inspired, it would be awesome if it was Merlin inspired but I don't think it is :)
NO WAY!!!! You love Harry Potter! Whoo! Who's your favourite character? I personally love Remus Lupin, Tonks and Teddy the most, oh and Sirius. Gotta love Sirius. Siriusly. And also, what are your views on Snape? He's another one on whom I can't make my mind. I'm also addicted enough to Pottermore, where The Sisters Grimm has no doubt influenced me - have you got a Pottermore account?
And Isolde looking like Sabine Lisicki? (I had to google her, 'cuz I've never heard of her before) Yeah, yes she does - but I still think she looks more like Kate!
Ah your Sundays sound like heaven! Two Merlins in one day? That is the life!
YES! I totally get what you are saying about Richard's eyebrows! I'm going to have to watch an episode of Merlin, just to see his eyebrows now. And yes, this conversation on eyebrows is weirding me out too!
You've hit the nail on the head as far as Johnny Depp and Helena are concerned; I love him as Captain Jack Sparrow, and she's really good as Bellatrix Lestrange (though I don't like her character. One.Bit). And he is really good as Willy Wonka too! I really started liking those two in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - have you seen it? It has Alan Rickman in it too. Though I'd steer clear of the film if you don't like horror.
I've not started watching Once Upon a Time yet, so the names Henry, Emma, August and Neal mean nothing at present. Who are their fairy-tale counter-parts? I think I know that Emma is Snow White's daughter - but I may be completely wrong. I think that Neal's her lover of sorts, and Snow White is called Mary or something. And there's also something about a big curse that was cast. But again, I may be completely wrong!
Hahaha, interesting TV shows? You're the first person who has ever called them that!
I feel really stupid typing this, especially since we're talking about Merlin and Harry Potter, but I also love Twilight! Team Edward and all that stuff. Do you like Twilight at all? If so, which team are you? (If not, which team would you be on?)
Coraline is the best animated film I have ever seen, though it is also the creepiest by far! I haven't seen Nancy Drew, Confessions of a Shopaholic or Despicable Me, though my friends have a habit of quoting it to me whenever they can. That and Harry Potter. Always.
Uhh, favourite genres? Fantasy, of course, considering I love The Sisters Grimm and Merlin, and I'm also a sucker for Romance. Lovey-dovey films make me cry, even when they have a happy ending. Shucks. I also like comedy as a genre, so long as the humour isn't to corny and cheesy. Merlin was amazing at maintaining the correct balance but other shows I've seen - err, no.
I've never seen Scott Pilgrim so I don't know what it is about. I've seen the promo pics from when it was released though, and what I saw, I did not like.
My least favourite film would probably be 'Knowing' with Nicholas Cage in... the ending was ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH, and I felt like I had wasted 2 and a half hours of my life after watching it.
Do you like reading at all? If so, what do you like reading?
Yay! It's always great to meet a fellow Potterhead! Coincidentally I'm rereading the series right now..I'm reading Prisoner of Azkaban! Remus, Tonks and Teddy are AWESOME! My favourite character would either be Harry or Snape, I know weird right! I think in the end I just felt really sorry for Snape, especially when he died! Voldemort is so mean!!! Which is your favourite book? Which is your favourite movie? Cool, you have Pottermore! Me too, my account name is AurorJinx101, what's yours? I'll send you a friend request. Also, what house are you in? I'm in Ravenclaw :)
I agree with you on Bellatrix! What she did to Neville and his parents was horrible! I for one think the cruciatus curse is much worse than just the killing curse. It's like the dementor's kiss, worse than being alive!!
Haha! Johnny Depp is epic as Willy Wonka!! He cracks me up so much, it makes me want to watch that film again!
I've never seen that film but I don't do well with horror films so I probably won't watch it :) Have you watched Orphan? I watched that movie once and I got traumatised for the rest of my life!
Actually every thing you said about Once Upon A Time was completely right!! For someone who hasn't watched it you are crazy good! Tell me when you start watching it :)
I've only ever watched the first twilight film but I never got around to the others. Haha, don't worry what others think, be part of your fandom with pride! That's the awesome thing about Merlin Wiki, so many different people who love Merlin!
Quite true, Coraline scared me so much, it's so gothic! But the food looks so good I just want to dive into the screen and eat it..lol!
Yeah, Merlin covered so many different genres while withstanding amazing quality! Another reason why I love it so much!
I absolutely hate it when films have unsatisfactory endings!!! It leaves you feeling so empty inside!
I do love reading! However I feel as life gets busier I have less time for it :(
What do I like reading? hahahaha you probably know what I'm gonna say..
Harry Potter? Of course! Incidentally, I just finished reading the Harry Potter series two days ago...weird right? I think my favourite book would probably be - it's tricky - either Prisoner of Azkaban (because that's where you first meet Remus),, Half-Blood Prince (the Harry/Ginny romance is so cute) or Deathly Hallows, because that is where we see Remus being happy about the birth of his son. But he also dies in that one too, so maybe not the Deathly Hallows.
Film-wise, I can't actually remember the last three properly, so I'd have to say my favourite is the Order of the Phoenix. But all's good, 'cuz I'm having a Harry Potter DVD Marathon in a few weeks. So I'll get back to you on that one.
I've sent you a friend request on Pottermore - my name is HazelBlood20826, and I go by the nickname of Grimm - no prizes for guessing where that came from! Though it's irritating because people get confused with The Grim, ya know? And so they'll call me Grim, with one 'm', which makes me sad. Oh, and I'm in Gryffindor! Is it just me, or does the Ravenclaw house on Pottermore reminds you of Beauxbatons?
I was thinking about the Cruciatus Curse the other day (as you do), and I'd have to agree with you. It's worse, as the Killing Curse is, at the very least, quick. And I felt so sorry for Neville when I read what happened to his parents; I think it's easier for Harry as his parents are dead than it is for Neville, since they are alive and they don't know who he is. Hating upon Bellatrix now. And I agree - I don't think the Dementor's kiss is something I could ever face.
Aww, Snape's death scene - I've never cried so much over a book! And to think that he was in love with Lily - I TOTALLY was not expecting that! Yes, Voldemort is horrible - sometimes I find myself wondering how Merlin would react if Voldemort was a threat against Camelot and/or Arthur. But I think I cried the most in the scene where Harry brings back the ones he loves with the Resurrection Stone, and how he walked to face death with James, Lily, Sirius and Remus by his side. SO sad. So, so sad.
Saying that though, I also cried when Cedric Diggory died, because he was played by Robert Pattinson! Do you prefer Pattinson as Diggory or as Edward Cullen? I have a feeling I know which one you're going to choose, and it ain't the vampire!
Hahah, Orphan, yeah I made the mistake of watching it a couple of years ago when I was like 12, and I have never been more freaked out by kids. EVER. I usually love horror films, but that has scarred me for life. It's so graphic and creepy!
Coraline - YES, gothic is the word I was looking for! But I enjoyed it as the way it was animated was completely different from anything I have ever seen before.
As for films having unsatisfactory endings - I completely agree! It also really annoys me, because I get really into the rest of the film, and then the ending... best if I stop before I get into rant mode.
Oh, I'm right about Once Upon a Time? Yay! Though I have to admit, I cheated slightly by reading the overview on it's Wiki page when I first found out about it. *feeling sheepish*.
As fro Twilight, I'm not surprised that you didn't watch the films after the first one. IT. WAS. RUBBISH. I was so mad when it came out because it didn't do any justice towards the book, and it is by far one of my least favourite films. Not because it's Twilight, but because it's a poor adaptatio. That's also something that really annoys me.
I know, I share your pain over not having enough time to read - I entirely blame school for that. But it's my favourite past-time regardless, and I may sometimes fall behind on my work because I choose to read instead. Oh well.
Last Question (I've noticed that I say that a lot) - do you watch Doctor Who?
Nice! Re-reading Harry Potter is so much fun! Haha yeah..Half Blood Prince is awesome and so funny! Even the 6th movie cracked me up so much! Deathly Hallows was really good but seeing Remus, Tonks and Fred die was heartbreaking :( You know who I find really annoying in Harry Potter..Cho! I just cannot stand her! What about you?
Haha love Harry Potter marathons!! I should have one soon...hopefully! My favourites would definitely be 2 and 6! 2 has such a great plot and as I said before 6 is so funny!
Yay! I added you! Unfortunately Ravenclaw is losing :( Well if we don't win, I hope Gryffindor does! Anything but Slytherin, although Merlin was in Slytherin. Don't you find that so weird since he's so nice in our version of Merlin! Haha the Grim!
I agree the Ravenclaw house looks a lot like Beauxbatons. I'm so used to Beauxbatons being all girls from the movie that I find it so weird when I read the book and it's co-ed!
Yeah, despite killing someone being horrible, Avada Kedavara (did I spell that right?) is really quite quick and painless!
Voldemort is so heartless!!! The least he could have done is finish Snape off quickly without attacking him with a snake. It was so hard to watch in the movie! Voldemort in Camelot LOL! You know what would be awesome...a Merlin/Harry Potter crossover! I would totally watch that!
That was a really nice scene! I really loved the scene where Voldemort was cracking up like a retard over Harry's "death" and then Harry just jumps down and Voldemort is like "shock horror!" hahaha priceless!
I can understand your sadness over Cedric's death! And yes, I do prefer him as Cedric :) Who do you prefer him as?
Orphan is the epitome of creepy!!!!! I have never been brave enough to watch a horror movie since. She killed the little boy in the hospital and then the dad! She was such a creepy kid!!! It was so scary when she killed the bird, and the whole tree house incident, and she killed the nun and then she threatened the boy with a gun!! It was really scary to think that there was a mind of a 30-odd year old behind the face of an 8 year old!! You know what REALLY REALLY REALLY freaked me out!! At the end when the mother like pushes her down in to the water and as then begin to walk away she jumps back out!!!!! I will never forget the image of her face at that point however much I may try!
Hahaa lol you read the Wikipedia overview!!! Nice!
Wikipedia can be the death of me sometimes...especially when i'm like halfway through a show that's already aired and I can't control myself so I read the episode description before watching the actual episode! I hate myself when I do that!
I actually never read the books..which is your favourite book and movie?
Yes, haha reading trumps school!!!
Don't worry, your not the only one who says a lot ;)
As for Doctor Who I only ever watched the 10 minutes that Colin Morgan was in it....wonder why! Is it good? Do you watch it?
"Voldemort cracking up like a retard". That is the best description I have heard of him by far!
Yes, I love Half-Blood Prince, though I don't particularly like the Ron/Lavender romance - I felt so bad for Hermione. But it was funny reading how Harry discovered his feelings Ginny - that whole beast being awakened in his chest was really cute. Is it just me, or do you think the romance between Harry and Ginny is rushed n the films?
Ugh, Cho. I don't like her at all. She's so weepy and she just doesn't have a personality. Ugh. And yes, Snape's death scene was really graphic - it was superbly acted though.
YES! A Harry Potter/Merlin crossover. I'd love to see Uther's face when he sees Voldemort or the Death Eaters, or even when a someone is apparating, considering he has an anti-magic regime. Saying that, I'd love to see Uther sentence Voldemort to death. That would be interesting.
You never know, Ravenclaw can still win. They were top of the leaderboard a few weeks back, so it's possible. But thanks for the vote of confidence for Gryffindor! When I was being sorted, I was hoping for either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw - anything but Slytherin. And yes, I hope Slytherin don't win the house-cup like last year.
Really, Merlin was a Slytherin? NO WAY! How do you know? And yeah, it's odd thinking how our Merlin would have fared in Slytherin . Hehe, Our Merlin.
THEY HAVE CHANGED POTTERMORE! THE LAYOUT AND EVERYTHING! What do you think of it? Personally, I think it sucks.
Ahhhh, Robert Pattinson. *Swoon* Yes, I'd have to agree with you; I prefer him as Cedric. And I love the way he is introduced in the films - he just drops out of a tree and says hello. Casually.
Yes, Beauxbatons freaked me out in the books because of it being co-ed. But personally, I like it being just for girls. That's how I always think of it at least.
Haha, I'm guilty of that too! Wikipedia is like my best friend whenever I want to know soemthing about a series! Or if I want to know what happens in a film without watching. Yeah, it'll be the death of me too!
Oh Colin Morgan. Beacause the Doctor is leaving, so many people wanted him to be the next Doctor. I found it funn. Yeah, I think Doctor Who is good, but that's only because I have two obsessed younger brothers who seem to think I want to know all about it.
The Twilight movies and books - I really don't know! My plan for the DVD marathon is that I will watch Harry Potter by day and Twilight by night, to jog my memory. I think I like Breaking Dawn (the last one) the most.
Orphan - I think the creepiest moment for me was when she smashed th birds head with a rock. And also when she killed the Dad after trying to seduce him. I was like "Err, no, you perv, you're his adopted daughter!" AND YES! The bit where she pushed her back into the lake was freaky, but I think the freakiest was when she went after the boy with a gun and shot him. I've never been more scared of kids! And to think she was actually an adult too!
Other news: I've applied for the adoption of The Sisters Grimm Wiki a few days back. Wish me luck!
Haha lol Lav-Lav and Won-Won! Yeah it was definitely rushed in the films...it was a portrayed much better in the books! A lot of things changed from the book to the movie but I love them all regardless!
Does Cho always have to be crying? Gosh! Watching Snape die was so sad!! Dobby's death was also really sad!!! :( Awesome acting!!! Is it just me or did you find Dumbledore's death sad but really funny at the same time! The way he fell back just made me crack up!
Haha Voldy on the chopping block! Morgana and Voldemort united in EVIL!
Stupid Slytherin pushed us down to 4! Waaaa! Whenever I duel I practically ALWAYS lose and whenever I start brewing a potion my computer lags or something and I melt my cauldron!!!
I saw it on one of the chocolate frog cards! Apparently Morgana and Mordred were also Slytherin! Haha lol Merlin in Slytherin, he's so innocent and beautiful!
OMG I just checked out Pottermore! What the hippogriff! It looks so retarded! I wish Pottermore was like a whole community at hogwarts if you know what I mean, where we had like actual classes, with lessons in our 'textbooks' and a quidditch club, etc. That would be so cool! I really don't like the new layout, the previous one was more magical if you know what I mean!
Even though his friends were mean, I liked Cedric because he was really nice to Harry!
Haha yeah me too! I just ignore the word 'boys' and keep reading..lol! I thought the introduction of the two other schools were so awesome in the movie. The deleted scene of the Hogwarts school song was so funny and immature! Hahaha! Go Hogwarts!
If Colin Morgan became the Doctor, I would definitely start watching it!!!!!
Cool, sounds like an awesome marathon! Hope you have fun!
She was so creepy! I couldn't even look at pic of the actress because I would get so scared! She just got a stone and dropped it on the bird. Yikes! You just see the nun casually walking then BANG! I will never unsee that film :( :( :(
Ooh! Good luck! You deserve it! If you need me to support you or comment on your application page just ask!
Btw what's your favourite Merlin deleted scene and your favourite Harry Potter deleted scene?
Ugh Lav-Lav and Ron-Ron - that was the most nauseating bit of the book! And I agree that it was portrayed better in the books - but like you, I love it regardless!
Yes, I think Cho is worse in the books than the films though; I actually felt sorry for Harry because I wouldn't know how to react to her either, at all. Yeah, Snape's death was horrible and the way he kept jerking against the glass every time the snake attacked him - I HATE VOLDEMORT. 'Nuff said.
Hehehe, I totally agree with you! In the book, I had a break-down when Dumbledore died, but in the film I couldn't help but laugh - it was so funny in slow motion and the way his arms were like flailing behind him as he fell was priceless!
Ah, the chocolate frog cards, it makes sense! I totally expect Morgana to be in Slytherin (though maybe not when she was good - she probably would have been in Gryffindor) but not Merlin! Not my Merlin. But you know how all the wizards and witches who were in Slytherin turned Dark, does that mean Merlin was an evil wizard? Also, if you attended Hogwarts, what house would you like to be in, and what house do you think you would be put in? (Doesn't have to be Pottermore influenced)
Morgana and Voldemort united in evil - I think they would be the most terrifying duo imaginable. Who do you think would walk out alive if Morgana and Voldy were to duel? My money is on Morgana.
Hahaha, what the hippogriff! I think I might adopt that as a saying! I know what you mean - the old Pottermore was more magical whereas the new one is more...digital. From the comments I've been reading, not many people like it either, and I can't say I blame them.
Oh, I get what you are saying about Pottermore being like an online 'school' similar to Hogwarts! That would be so cool! What do you think your favourite subject would be? I'm torn between Defence against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration or Charms.
Argh, I'm AWFUL at brewing potions. I've blown up two Cauldrons and melted loads too. And then, because of the changes, I'm also really bad at dueling. I'd be a really bad witch!
WHAT! There are deleted scenes from Merlin? How did I not know this? I'll have to get back to you on my favourite deleted scene. Hehe, I've just watched the Hogwarts song that was deleted, ad I wish they didn't get rid of it! Malfoy and Krum's faces were just like WTH! (What the Hippogroff!) I think my favourite delted scene would have to be from Deathly Hallows Part 2, where Ron and Hermione are running from Nagini, and then Ron says something like "Hermione, I have something to tell you", to which Hermione says "Don't say anything you wouldn't say if we weren't being chased by a giant snake!" IT. WAS. SO. CUTE! Or another favourite would be in Deathly Hallows part 1, where Petunia is stood in the middle of her living room before she leaves and she goes "Do you think I don't know what they are capable of? You didn't just lose a mother that night. I lost a sister." Excuse me whilst I go cry.
What are your favourite deleted scenes from the two?
Question that has been puzzling me whilst liking Harry Potter - you know how Harry was protected because of Lily's sacrifice? Surely he would be protected anyway, and so would Lily, because James died trying to fend of old Voldy, so his sacrifice would give Lily and Harry protection? Does that make sense?
Ah Colin Morgan as the Doctor! That would be the life! I still can't get over the fact that he had black nail varnish on to play his role in DW.
Piece of life advice - don't ever watch Paranormal Activity at night, when it's pitch black outside. With no lights on, curtains drawn back and windows open. I did yesterday, and I'm still really jumpy. Have you seen the film?
I'll try to have fun at my DVD marathon, but I most probably will end up falling asleep half-way through!
Yes, you've described Orphan best - I will never unsee the film either.
Thanks for wishing me luck with my 'adoption' - why of all words is that chosen to describe the process! To be honest, I think you're helping anyway, because the people who allow adoptions would look at what I'm doing on other Wikis, so it helps that I've been socially active with you on the Merlin one. So thank you!
Random Question: do you like The Hunger Games?
Relevant Question: What's your favourite scene from the Harry Potter books that did not make it into the film?
Haha it was so funny when Ron opens his Christmas present from Lavender and it's a necklace that says "Sweetheart" HAHAHAHA! Priceless!
Yeah that was really sad! So glad Voldemort died!!!!! And Bellatrix! Hahaha it was so funny Draco joins 'the dark side' and Voldy gives him a hug! I was cracking up so hard!
It's so sad...Merlin in Slytherin! I'd want to be in Gryffindor! Everyone in Gryffindor's really cool and unique and they're good at Quidditch...i'm so random! But yeah I'd pick Ravenclaw next and then Hufflepuff and Slytherin. What about you?
Haha yeah I'd go for Morgana!!!! At least she was nice at some point in her life and she's got a more legit motive than Voldemort!
I just don't like the way it looks anymore, however the bar at the bottom that shows all the chapters is useful because it tells you if you've completed the chapter or not :)
Mine would probably me Charms I think....what about you??
HAhahaah the school song scene is so funny! Why did they delete that??? I was really angry that they cut out all those awesome Harry/Dursley scenes from Harry Potter 7, how can you delete Dudley apologising!!!
This is so hard to choose!!! Favourite Merlin deleted scene probably from Darkest Hour Part 2 where Arthur gives Merlin his mother's crest!
And from Harry Potter probably from Harry Potter 1 where they're sitting discussing the exam and Neville comes jumping in because Malfoy cursed him! Hahaha! And yours?
Yeah, that does make sense!!! Hmmmm that's a good question!!! Maybe it will be answered eventually in Pottermore!
Haha Jethro Cane! He was so funny!
I so the ad for that film and got creeped out of my wits, it's probably best if I stay away from horror for good :)
Lol! The last time I tried to have a marathon I was watching HP7 part 1 at about 3 am and I got so freaked out by Bathilda Bagshot that I went to sleep!
Unfortunately I never got around to reading the books but the film was AWESOME and I'm really looking forward to Catching Fire! Are you a fan?
OMG this is so hard!!! How do I choose! I was kind of sad that Quidditch became less prevalent in the films so maybe more Quidditch scenes! Oh my gosh there are like thousands, I can't choose! What about you? :)
Hi - sorry, for the late reply, excuses for which I have none. This is like the third time I've tried to post a reply, so hopefully it will work!
I don't blame Ron for his reaction at all. I'd just about die if I was a boy and received that. Though speaking as a girl, if a boy gifted that, it would be kinda cute.
I think Bellatrix's death was portrayed better in the books than the film but Voldemort's was better in the films. The way he turned to ash and just casually floated into the air was...odd, to say the least. I know right - he just hugged Draco, like actually touched him in an affectionate way. (That sounds bad, but ya know what I mean!) I think he has more of a personality in the films than he does in the book, therefore making him more colder and evil in the books than in the films. Like in Deathly Hallows Part 1, where he jokes with Pius Thicknesse and says something like "Spoken like a true politician."
Yeah. I think Morgana has more of a chance, since she can do magic with her eyes, whilst Voldy requires a wand to do some serious damage. I'd hope to be in Gryffindor, but I can see myself in Hufflepuff - anything but Slytherin though! I'd also love to be on the Quidditch team, but I physically suck at all things sport-related, so I don't that's the path for me. *sobs*
Ah, Pottermore. Like you said before, it looks a lot less magical and more digital. I agree that the bar is useful, but the really annoying thing is that there is a bar within a bar, and it only fills up when you complete each moment. It's really irritating if you like to complete everything before you move on next, as to fill up the bars, you have to do obscure things like send someone a cauldron cake - who on EARTH would guess that? But, they've also released the life-story of Remus Lupin, so I am one happy bunny.
I'm stuck between Charms, Transfiguration and Defence Against the Dark Arts, 'cuz they are like the basics of wizarding magic, I'd say Potions, but I don't think I could put up with Snape, even if I do like him as a character.
I can't actually believe that they cut out the Hogwarts school song, now that I know they've filmed it. I would have though they'd at least have put it in the Philosopher's Stone, but no. I think my favourite deleted scene would have to be the Petunia's farewell in Deathly Hallows, but as I haven't seen the deleted scenes from any of the other films, I can't really say what my favourite scene is overall.
From the books, I think the bit I miss the most would be from the Deathly hallows, and Remus comes in all happy, and makes Harry godfather to Teddy. I was SO annoyed when I saw they cut that bit out, like I was annoyed when Teddy didn't even feature in the epilogue part of the film.
I didn't actually know that Merlin had any deleted scenes, considering it's a TV series. I watched the scene with the crest that you mentioned - WHY DID THEY CUT THAT OUT?! It was so cute! Why would - WHY WOULD THEY CUT IT OUT! It's like I live for the scenes that demonstrates the friendship between Merlin and Arthur, even if Arthur is loathe to admit it. That would probably be my favourite scene, seeing as I haven't watched the deleted scenes for the other episodes.
Colin Morgan is cute - what was that thing you wanted people to vote for where he was up against Tom Hiddleston I think? Anyway, as Jethro Cane, I found this video of him on youtube where his face is priceless! I apologise for the text embedded onto the video screen though. Saying that, you probably won't find it funny at all, so sorry if you don't!
I think I'll post the question on the Harry Potter Wiki and see if it gets answered. If not, I think I may have found a sirius (geddit?) plot-hole in the series...
Ah, the Bathilda Bagshot scene. I love how there's just like flies hovering around her casually. But I see what you mean when you say it's freaky - I hate how Nagini just slithered out of her body like that.
My aim for the movie marathon is not to fall asleep, 'cuz last time I had one, I was down under before the film had even started. Which kind of defeats the point.
Other news: FINALLY there is another user on The Sisters Grimm Wiki! You have no idea how happy this makes me. She beat me to the 3000th edit badge though - but no matter - the 4000th edit badge will be mine! *laughs manically*
Eh, The Hunger Games. I had a brief thing for it before the release of the first film, and I was like a fan for two months. I can't wait for Catching Fire either - the trailer looks amazing!
Hahaha, I don't blame you for not wanting to watch Paranormal Activity. I'm completely regretting watching it, and am currently jumping at every sound I hear.
Fireworks (or Chimpanzees, I don't really know what to have as a nickname. I may just go with my Pottermore name of Grimm. Any ideas?)
Haha! You don't need to be sorry, I'm always SO late to reply, for example, now!
That scene was really funny Ron with his Sweetheart necklace and Harry with his maggots!!!!
Yeah the thought of Voldy just dying and his body lying on the side is weird! It's like he's just another person...and he certainly isn't it!! Yeah even though he was EVIL he was quite funny in the movies!
If I did manage to scrape my way on to the Quidditch team I'd borrow a set of Armour from Arthur before a bludger comes and shatters every bone in my body! It's actually so incredibly dangerous, bludgers freak me out so much, especially in the second book with Dobby's rogue bludger!
HAHAHA! Send a cauldron cake....so random! LOL! And that bar always lags so I'll be looking for something for 10 minutes without realising there's NOTHING left to find! Life story on Lupin- i'm sure you are happy!
Yeah! With the amount of cauldrons I melt I'd be worse than Neville! :(
You should watch all the deleted scenes! They're hilarious! Btw, did you watch the Merlin ones?
The epilogue left out quite a lot! They should have made a MOVIE just about the epilogue...hahaha! Also, there wasn't much conversation in the epilogue, it was like they were all in silence!
I know right!!! The crest scene is so AMAZING! Also, did you see the deleted scene from Goblin's Gold, it was Arthur's reaction to finding out Merlin had "magic"...I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY CUT THAT OUT!!! GRRRR! Sometimes it makes me so angry I just pretend it was never left out :)
Anglo Fan Favourites is a contest run every year by BBC America...Colin Morgan lost 40%-60%!!!! Cry!!!! Maybe next year! Besides, he came to semis last year, I'm sure eventually he'll do it!
HAHAHAHA! Thank you so much for sending it! "In the middle of nowhere" Go to love Colin Morgan!!!!!!!!
HAHAHA pun-intended! That was siriusly funny!
Nice! Good luck for this marathon!!! Have plenty of food ready, that way your less likely to fall asleep!
I completely understand how you feel! I hate when you JUST miss out! Don't worry, your turn is next!!!!!
Ever since Orphan I've made a vow never to watch another horror movie, even if everyone thinks I'm a woos... lol! (is that how you spell woos?)
Which nickname do you like the very best???? You should go with that one!!!
Btw, have you watched Now You See Me? I watched it yesterday at the cinemas and in my opinion it was EPIC!!!!
Haha - I highly doubt you've left it as late as I have left answering this message -sorry!
But guess what? I got the admin rights! Fan-girl screaming! I've been spending ages making the Wiki look presentable at the very least, but I am just. So. Darn. Happy!
Haha, I don't even think Arthur's armour could protect me from a bludger - I just SUCK at all things sport related.
(cowers in corner) I still haven't watched the Merlin deleted scenes - don't shoot! But I did watch the Goblin's Gold one you pointed out and awwwwwwwwwwwww? I just love scenes with Merlin and Arthur. And Colin and Bradley seem to be really good friends as well, 'cause they've made loads of videos together where they are just messing around. Have you seen those?
NO! He LOST? I can't believe that! How far did he go this year?
I haven't even heard of Now You See Me - what's it about?
I've always spelled (spelt?) wuss as wuss, but I get how you can spell it as woos. Is it me, or does that sentence sound really odd?
Ah, I loved the maratho1 We watched all the Harry Potters, Twilights and Lord of the Rings together, and for my birthday too - it was brilliant, and I did not full asleep! (smiles triumphantly).
Other news - Have you read The Mortal Instruments series, or watched the movie? It's my new obsession and it is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to stop there before I get too into gushing about it!
No worries! I'm so happy for you! I'm sure you will make an excellent admin! Good-luck!
I will hold fire! But watch them when you can, they are SO funny!!! Those videos are the best!! Haha you're the voice! And all their little video diaries...I wish they kept making those for Series 3, 4 and 5! They act perfectly together!!! I really want to see them working together in the future.
He got to Quarterfinals!! He deserved to win!! But we can still vote for Katie in the womens version! Did you know she won last year???
I really hope she wins this year, she is my favourite actress!
Now You See Me is an epic movie about a group of magicians who give money to their audience and make them happy by robbing banks! It's insane! And the end is a complete plot-twist! It was awesome! I highly recommend it. (I noticed I finish a lot of my sentences with an exclamation mark, sorry)
Haha, wuss or woos, I guess we'll never now!
Your marathon sounds splendid! You watched so much! How long did it take you????
No, I think I've heard of it but unfortunately I have never read them? By your level of fanship I am guessing they're are very good! :)
