Queen was the title bestowed upon the female ruler of a kingdom, where King was the title given to a male. They were often denoted by their wearing of a crown. They are queens in their own right, or more often the wives of kings. Many of them are more rational and more just than their husbands, others are even more cruel than their husbands. Some are kind and compassionate like Queen Guinevere, the wife of King Arthur of Camelot and her mother-in-law the late Queen Ygraine of Camelot who was the wife of the late King Uther.
