Telepathy is a form of magic that allows magic users to transmit speech into someone else's mind, allowing them to communicate in secret.
People without magic cannot be contacted telepathically.
History
Soon after Merlin arrived in Camelot, Kilgharrah used telepathy to lure him to his cave (The Dragon's Call).
After Cerdan was captured, Mordred used telepathy to call Merlin for help. He communicated exclusively with telepathy during his stay in Camelot, and at one point used it to speak to Morgana (The Beginning of the End).
Kilgharrah used telepathy to summon Merlin for news of Excalibur. He later attempted to call Merlin after he swore never to see Kilgharrah again, but Merlin was too far away to hear (Excalibur, Le Morte d'Arthur).
Mordred used telepathy to speak to Morgana when she visited the Druid camp. He later used telepathy to direct Alvarr to her chambers, and to speak to Merlin after he attempted to get him captured (The Nightmare Begins, The Witch's Quickening).
Kilgharrah telepathically demanded that Merlin keep his promise to free him (The Witch's Quickening).
Morgause heard Morgana cry out telepathically after Merlin poisoned her (The Fires of Idirsholas).
Morgause used telepathy to lure Morgana to her hiding place (Queen of Hearts).
Iseldir used telepathy to entrust Merlin with the Cup of Life (The Coming of Arthur).
A group of Druids led by Iseldir used telepathy to speak with Merlin about the Tomb of Ashkanar (Aithusa).
Merlin tried to warn Daegal about bandits with telepathy, but Daegal was unable to hear him because he didn't have any magic (The Hollow Queen).
Mordred and Kara often used telepathy to communicate. Later, after Kara was executed, Mordred emitted a telepathic scream loud enough to pierce Merlin's mind (The Drawing of the Dark).
While taunting Merlin in the Crystal Cave, Morgana used a form of telepathy that made her voice sound as though it were coming from several different directions (The Diamond of the Day).

Trivia
- Telepathy was extremely common among the Druids (The Beginning of the End).
- Skilled practitioners of telepathy such as Iseldir rarely spoke verbally (The Coming of Arthur, Aithusa).
- According to Gaius, the Druids searched for children with gifts such as telepathy to serve as apprentices. This may imply that telepathy is an innate ability similar to the gift of prophecy (The Beginning of the End).
